Living in fear, not peace.
We used to smile and play,
Now we cry ourselves to sleep.

Our homes are gone,
Our schools destroyed.
We miss our parents,
Some of us are all alone.

We are hungry, tired, and scared,
But still, we hope.
We are not just numbers,
We are hearts that feel and hurt.

Where is the world? So loud, so grand—
But none will take us by the hand.
We are not numbers. We are not news.
We are the ones the world will lose.

Since the conflict began in October 2023, over 16,500 children have been killed in Gaza. UNICEF has reported that, including injured children, the toll exceeds 50,000 killed or injured, with around 1,309 children killed since March 2025 alone.

As of early 2024, approximately 17,000 children were orphaned or separated from their parents. By late 2024, that figure had climbed to an estimated 20,000 orphans.

Over 700,000 children were displaced by November 2023. By mid-2024, approximately 893,000 children were internally displaced.

Over 625,000 school‑age children were out of school for more than six months by mid‑2024. The UN reported over 600 schools damaged or destroyed and 625,000 children missing an education.

We firmly believe that Allah (SWT) is capable of ending all suffering in an instant. “Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.” (Qur’an 2:20)

But in His divine wisdom, He watches what we do, how we respond, and how we care for one another. It is not about how much we can give, but whether we choose to act when others are in need.

“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve his distress on the Day of Resurrection.” (Sahih Muslim)
